Chinese Martial Arts Training In Singapore
Our club is in the preliminary stage of setting up and there are alot to be done. Meanwhile, our club will periodically organize Kung Fu Workshop with the combine drilling of Qigong 气功, Southern Kung Fu 南拳, and Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Weapons 四大兵器 (Chinese Saber 刀, Spear 枪, Sword 剑 & Staff Pole 棍).
Our Kung Fu Workshop is meant to serve as a platform for novices to learn more about Chinese culture 中华文化 and to experience Traditional Chinese Martial Arts 传统中华武术 from the fundamental level. Due to we have met trainees suffering from asthma and chronic join pains, we have took up a much “Gentle Approach” to coaching compared to commercial gyms. We will not push our trainees to train hard, they can also take breaks any time during training. It is the trainees' choice to choose how hard they want to train and how much much they want to learn. |
Basically in the first half of our Kung Fu Workshop, all our trainees will be guided to carry out simple to do body strengthening Qigong 气功 and stretching. Then everyone will be guided to drill the fundamental hands & legs techniques of Southern Kung Fu 南拳.
After the first half of training, all trainees will be divided into small groups according to their preferences, fitness level and technical competency to carry out the below training :
Beginner trainees can continue to practice the forms 招式 of Southern Style Kung Fu 南拳 with a partner using Punch Mitts, Kick Shields and Kick Pads as targets.
Trainees with higher technical competency can do partners drills to hone their skills, practice more advanced Southern Kung Fu styles' set routine 套路 or learn the usage of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Weapons 四大兵器 (Chinese Saber 刀, Spear 枪, Sword 剑 & Staff Pole 棍) from our volunteer committee members.
